The world will decide. The world always decides.

In 6 days time, I will be doing my lasik surgery and entering a world of waking up to clear vision, no longer needing to reach for the spectacles by the bed to see. As easy as the surgery sound, I can't help but feel nervous still. When the day comes, one thing is for sure, there is no turning back.

YOG

Despite the buzz created to promote the YOG, I have not really been fazed yet. Didn't catch the opening ceremony as well. Frankly speaking even the usual summer Olympics don't interest me. I guess its because the games are already won before it starts. The chinese will dominate table tennis, Americans will win basketball, Koreans will win taekwondo. Its an uneven domination. Probably the only event which excites me is the 100m sprint.

Having said that, I did watch the YOG taekwondo tournament. The Koreans impress me, especially with their back hook kicks. Disappointingly though was to see fighters telling the referee to pause the bout because of an injury. This robs the opponent of momentum and advantage. I remember doing it myself last time which had my instructor fuming and reprimanding me for it, because it shows the weak point to the opponent. As a couch potato watching it on TV now, I totally agree. It doesn't look like a martial art at all. There are too many stoppages and body feinting, rather than actual sparring.

Ok, I know I sound like a big time Charlie who must have made it last time. Well fact is, its true. I was after all the national U-18 middle weight champion. Who knows what might have been if the YOG had arrived 8 years earlier. Haha.

Its been a long time coming

Hope everyone enjoyed their lunar new year holidays.

I was in Outram MRT after lunch hour going home. On the escalator down to the NEL, the left hand side was packed with people while the right hand side, as we all know should be free flowing, in the sense if you 'ain't moving then kindly keep to the left so that people in a hurry can walk on the right.

I wasn't in a hurry but just wanted to get home fast so I was on the right hand side. But in front of me was a aunty with those retro curly hair standing there blocking me. I said excuse me which she didn't bulge. I tap her shoulder to say excuse me, she turned around and ask me what I wanted. I said I wanted to go pass and she replied 'then overtake lah'. Well I couldn't becoz the LHS, lets just say in front of her and behind had people, so it was squeezy, if she stood in btw them on the left instead, I could have just carried on walking. But no, she gave me that fucked up look when she told me to overtake her. Anyway, she shouldn't be standing on the right in the first place.

I barged pass her and heard her mumbled something like "just overtake lah." She just had to test my patience. I couldn't help but turned back and said "dun stand on the fucking right if u ain't fucking moving". Sometimes I wished the law could turn a blind eye and let me pushed her down the escalator and make her fall down the steps and break her fucking neck.

The reckoning is to come for what what does one hundred years before.
